Junior League of Peoria Recruitment
Welcome! The Junior League of Peoria (JLP) is an organization of over 400 active and sustaining members. Since 1935, the JLP has been committed to promoting voluntarism and to improving our community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The Peoria Race for the Cure, Family House, the Riverfront Playground, Julep’s Closet, Christmas in April, and Keepsacks for Kids are just a few of the past projects that we have launched in the Peoria area.
Our current major project is The Peoria PlayHouse where we will prepare every young child to learn by offering the hands-on experiences essential for healthy brain development. It will feature interactive exhibits and programs that strengthen families and complement formal education, ensuring that all children are stimulated to participate and learn. These positive learning experiences will instill in our children a lifelong love of learning, and encourage an appreciation of our cultural institutions as they mature.
The Junior League of Peoria reaches out to women of all races, creeds, religions, and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and a commitment to volunteerism.
A candidate for membership shall be 20 years of age as of May 31 of the calendar year, shall be a resident of Peoria or vicinity, and shall demonstrate an interest in volunteerism and a commitment to community service.
The new member class begins every fall. New members meet once a month to learn about the structure, history, projects, and fundraisers of The Junior League of Peoria.
