Volunteering for the Peoria Charter School - Work Day
The Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce has been an integral partner in the development of Quest Charter Academy, Peoria’s Math, Science and Technology Charter School. School will open for 225 students on August 24th. Before that time there is still a great deal of cleanup and fix up work to be done in the school. The Charter School would like to have some assistance from YPGP! (Feel free to bring your friends with you, as this is not limited to just YPGP members.) Other organizations and groups will be doing over the next few weeks as well. YPGP volunteers will work on Saturday, July 31st. There will be two shifts 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30p.m. Lunch will be served between shifts for anyone who volunteers. Work will include such jobs as painting, cleaning doors and walls, yard work, etc. The exact jobs will be shared when volunteers report for their shift. The school is located in the former Loucks School at 2503 N University (corner of University and McClure, next to Aggatucci’s). A volunteer coordinator will be on site during the day. Please sign up by emailing Pete Thomas, Quest Charter Volunteer Coordinator at rivercityq@sbcglobal.net or calling him at 402-0030. Please let him know which shift you want to work, your name and email address. Help us help the children at Quest Charter Academy have a great looking school to report to on August 24th.
